PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Erlanger Children’s Canopy is an imaginative environment for visiting children. Floral forms emerge to create a playful canopy for children awaiting their appointments.

Branch Technology developed a simple hexagonal grid with repeatable modules that could materialize into an organic structure. The modules join much like a canopy of trees in a dense forest, providing both dappled light and ample shade.

This children’s play terrace canopy leverages Branch Technology’s patented C-Fab® (Cellular Fabrication) technology by creating a lightweight translucent-filled canopy. The canopy is supported by minimal steel columns that maximize the space below, provide a meandering path for children, and support amenities like a wooden xylophone and wind chimes. With a bright pallet of ombre colors, the project is tailored to a child’s spirited imagination. Strong visuals, sound, texture and movement intersect to awaken a child’s senses and encourage a delight in the world around them.
